1 Introduction

Welcome to Walle ("we", "our", or "the App"). We respect your privacy and are fully committed to protecting any information you interact with when using this application.

This Privacy Policy explains:

• What information the App collects and stores
• How that information is used
• Which third-party services are involved and what data they may access
• Your rights and choices

2 Who We Are

Walle is an independent Android wallpaper application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Unsplash, Google, or any other third party mentioned in this policy.

3 What Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide (Stored Locally on Your Device ONLY)

The following data is entered by you and stored exclusively on your device using Android's SharedPreferences storage. It is never transmitted to any server we operate, because we do not operate any servers.

3.2 Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect:

• Real name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials
• Precise or approximate location data
• Device identifiers (IMEI, Advertising ID, Android ID)
• Contacts, call logs, or SMS data
• Camera or microphone data
• Financial or payment information
• Health or biometric data
• Usage analytics, crash diagnostics, or telemetry
• Browsing history outside this App

3.3 Network Requests (Wallpaper Content)

When the App fetches wallpaper images, it makes standard HTTPS requests to third-party content providers (see Section 5). These requests include:

• Your IP address — transmitted automatically by your OS as part of every internet connection; we do not log or store it, but third-party providers may.
• Standard HTTP headers — such as User-Agent; sent by OkHttp and not customised to identify you personally.
• Search query text — if you use the search feature, text you type is sent to Unsplash's API over HTTPS. Do not type sensitive personal information into the search bar.

3.4 Local Image Cache

The App uses Glide to display and cache wallpaper images locally in your device's private app storage. This cache is not accessible to other apps on non-rooted devices and is deleted when you clear the App's cache or uninstall the App.

5 Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services. We have no control over their data practices; their respective privacy policies govern any data they receive.

5.1 Unsplash (api.unsplash.com)

• What it does: Provides wallpaper images and search results.
• Data it may receive: Your IP address, standard HTTP headers, and any search query you type.

5.2 Lorem Picsum (picsum.photos)

• What it does: Provides fallback placeholder images when Unsplash is unavailable.
• Data it may receive: Your IP address and standard HTTP headers.

5.3 Glide (Image Loading Library)

• What it does: Downloads, decodes, and locally caches wallpaper images.
• Data shared externally: None. Glide operates entirely on-device.

5.4 uCrop (Image Cropping Library)

• What it does: Allows you to crop a wallpaper before applying it.
• Data shared externally: None. All cropping is performed locally on your device.

5.5 Retrofit / OkHttp (Networking Libraries)

• What they do: Handle encrypted HTTPS communication with Unsplash and picsum.photos.
• Data shared externally: Only the network request data described in Section 3.3.

6 Android Permissions Explained

The App does not request permissions for: camera, microphone, contacts, location, phone state, SMS, biometrics, or notifications.

7 Data Retention

We do not retain any data on our own servers because we do not operate any servers.

8 Data Security

• All network communication is conducted over HTTPS (TLS encryption).
• Locally stored data is held in Android's private app storage, inaccessible to other apps on non-rooted devices.
• We do not transmit your locally stored data anywhere.
• No passwords or financial data are ever collected or stored.

While we take reasonable technical precautions, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

9 Children's Privacy (COPPA)

This App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through this App, please contact us at lazeeeedude@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA): this App is not intended for users under the age of 16 (or the applicable minimum digital consent age in your member state).

10 International Data Transfers

All data processed by the App is stored locally on your device. No personal data is transferred to our servers. However, when you fetch wallpapers, your network requests travel to Unsplash's servers (located in the United States) and picsum.photos servers. By using the App, you acknowledge that these requests may involve international data transfers governed by the privacy policies of those third parties.

11 Your Rights

11.1 General Rights (All Users)

• Access: You can view all data stored by the App directly on your device (Profile screen, Favourites screen).
• Deletion: Delete all App data anytime via Android Settings → Apps → Walle → Clear Data, or by uninstalling the App.
• Portability: All your data is stored in files on your own device; you have full physical control.

11.2 European Union / EEA Users GDPR

If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, as well as to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority (Articles 15–21, GDPR).

Since the App processes no personal data on any server we operate, most GDPR rights can be exercised directly on your device by clearing App data. For any other requests, contact lazeeeedude@gmail.com.

Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6): Processing of search queries sent to Unsplash is based on performance of the service you requested (Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in providing wallpaper content (Art. 6(1)(f)).

11.3 California Residents CCPA / CPRA

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know, access, delete, and opt out of the sale of your personal information, and to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

12 Do Not Track

The App does not use tracking technologies, does not set cookies, and does not implement any form of cross-app or cross-site tracking. "Do Not Track" browser signals are not applicable to this App.

13 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:

• The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
• If the change is material, we will notify you via an in-app notice on first launch after the update.
• Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
